The Leadership Of A Church - 2574 Words

I would like to say thank you for the opportunity to meet with you regarding the worship position and what an honor it is be considered. I know it is very important to understand and come along side the leadership in a church in order to carry out the vision the Pastor has for the church. I would love to hear your theology on worship and what you are looking for in a worship leader. I consider it to be an enormous responsibility in working with church leadership to aid in carrying out the vision the pastor has for the Church. As a worship leader, I believe it is my job to serve the Church and the pastor, to the best of my abilities, in carrying out that vision. I believe it is just as important for the worship leader to desire to be in the presence of the Lord by way of worship, and if that desire is true to the heart of the leader, the people will be led into the presence of God as well. As far as my worship theology goes, I believe worship is in every part of a person’s existence, whether one believes it or not. As human beings, we all worship something. In gratitude to the Lord, I want every aspect of my life and heart to worship Him in response to what He’s done for me. Before I came to know the Lord, my life was in such brokenness. I grew up in an abusive home, married young and worked very hard for very little. After a rough five-year marriage, my husband became ill, and five years later, he passed away. Ten years of hardship, running from the Lord, and with twoShow MoreRelatedChurch Leadership2503 Words   |  11 Pagesl22748411 CHMN 201 CO3 LUO 10/24/2010 CHURCH LEADERSHIP PAPER The subject of my evaluation, let’s call him Tb, an interesting young brother; converted at an early and called to be in the service of the lord almost immediately. Weezer [Blue Album] by Weezer free essay sample

With their self-titled debut, which many fans know as â€Å"The Blue Album,† Weezer took an unabashedly positive attitude and a love for home-grown music and shoved it straight into the faces of doubtful critics and record buyers alike. Cheery tunes, accessible sing-alongs, and a consistently nerdy spirit proved a musical gold mine for those tired of the recent onslaught of angry, downbeat punk and hip-hop posturing and definitely make â€Å"Weezer [Blue Album]† a contender for the happiest album of a very musically unhappy decade: the 1990s. From the very first track, â€Å"My Name Is Jonas,† the band instantly set the tone for the entire album with soft-loud dynamics (something ironically borrowed from angsty grungers Nirvana, albeit with a slightly different tone), loud guitars, a moderate pace, and a titular protagonist borrowed from Lois Lowry’s classic book The Giver, which actually won the Newbery Medal in the exact same year this album was released. We will write a custom essay sample on Weezer [Blue Album] by Weezer or any similar topic specifically for you Do Not WasteYour Time HIRE WRITER Only 13.90 / page â€Å"No One Else† and â€Å"The World Has Turned And Left Me Here† follow pretty much along the same lines, but it was the breezy blast â€Å"Buddy Holly,† along with the woeful â€Å"Undone – The Sweater Song,† and the honest, more personal â€Å"Say It Ain’t So† that really catapulted them into the mainstream and proved them a true force to be reckoned with. Another highlight is the extended closer â€Å"Only In Dreams,† which effectively uses relatable lyrics and interesting hooks to keep the listener’s attention over its entire 8-minute running time. Unfortunately, like many other albums of this sort, â€Å"The Blue Album† occasionally suffers from corny songwriting and boring, sometimes even monotonous instrumentations, particularly on the cliched underdog tale â€Å"In The Garage† (which perplexingly kicks off with a harmonica), the perfect vacation fantasy â€Å"Holiday,† and the surfer anthem â€Å"Surf Wax America.† However, the album’s biggest flaw in general is that it’s ultimately too shallow to really delve into any sort of deep, meaningful, or even memorable introspections or confessions. In fact, the whole package is really so safe and lightweight that it might even be tempting to write it off as nothing more than geeky, innocent kids’ music, which very well might be the case at times. Despite all that, however, Weezer’s debut is still a fairly solid, up-tempo listen for when you really don’t feel like listening to anything else or when you want some nice background music while you’re doing your homework. In fact, this release is genuinely straightforward when compared with some of the other albums in their catalog, some of which inexplicably cross over into full-on dance-pop. In short, despite its flaws, if you only buy one Weezer album, this is it.

The Deafening Roar Of Metal Beasts Greets Me Every Day, Essays

The deafening roar of metal beasts greets me every day, As the fac'try doors I open wide, Remembrin' what my mother always used to say, I slowly saddened make my way inside. I take my place along the line, as routine as can be, Retrieve my needle and my off white thread, Felling trapped, wishing to live free, While questions, ?why?,' ?what if?,' soar through my head. "You go out there and do your stuff," Mom told me every morn'. She smiled proudly, then she'd hug me tight. "Don't be late, and come right home," she'd warn, Then wave till I had vanished out of sight. Not once did I forget about my mother back at home, And I cared for both my sisters with my heart, But I was forced to work, I couldn't leave, I couldn't roam, Until that whistle blew, then home I'd dart. Runninn,' sprintin,' homeward bound, a grin across my face. Finally, I'm home, but out of breath. I sat there gasping loudly, from such a grueling pace. "How much? How much?" came from my sister, Beth. From my pocket I'd pull some coins, and jingle them around, And get a giggle, from my sister, Paige. I held out my hand, there was no sound, As I anxiously added up the wage. My mother's face would glow with pride, she'd kiss me o'er my brow, And hug my sisters closely while she said, "Your brother's brought home one more one more dollar, now, I'll go to town and fetch a loaf of bread." Back at work, the days grew longer, painful, every one, As each machine would thunder out its tune. I grew weary, but stayed a faithful son, Thinking, saying, ?I'll be back home soon.' But unsanitary filth engulfed my lonesome soul, A dusty atmosphere of grime and dirt. My strength and health became a daily toll And with each hour, my tired fingers hurt. My only friends are my needle, and the thread I use, Hastily, another stitch I sew Upon a young boy's pair of running shoes, Who lives a life that I will never know.
